Carpet Cleaning – No Need to Worry Anymore

We all have these big beautiful carpets at home which give us delight in cold winter evenings. However, as much as they are pleasure for the eye and comfort for the feet, they are also extremely difficult for cleaning as it involves lifting heavy furniture in order to get the carpet out of the house. Moreover, the carpet cleaning companies often charge for work you can as easily do at home without using any detergents that may be harmful to your health.

There is good news, though; carpet cleaning can also be as easy as pie. On top of that, you will not have to buy any chemical cleaning agents. Here are some methods that can save you a lot of money and time:

1. The only supplies you need are some baking soda and a vacuum cleaner. You start by applying a dusting of baking soda on the carpet, if you want to get a fresher feeling after cleaning the carpet, you can add some essential oils to the baking soda so that you get the effect of the expensive deodorizers. Having spread the compound on the carpet, you can reward yourself with a cup of good coffee while waiting for about 20 minutes as the magic mixture is doing its work on your carpet. After that the only thing that is left to do is to hoover around a bit.

2. Another good way of refreshing your carpet is to go over its surface with a wet towel soaked in a bit of vinegar. Just fill a bucket with water and add some vinegar, then bathe the cloth in this solution and squeeze out most of it, then run the cloth over the carpet. By doing this, you will keep its colours as bright as they can be. Personally, I would recommend that you do it in the summer as the carpet will be dry again in no time after you apply this home-made cleaning solution.

I would advise that you only use your carpets during the winter and store them away for the summer. Remember, the longer you use a carpet, the dirtier it gets, so put it away for a while.

In addition, you will not sicken of the beautiful carpet you have if you are not looking at it every day. When you get it out of the closet in the autumn, you will feel as if it is a brand new purchase. Just don’t forget that you must never fold a carpet or, otherwise, you will ruin it. On top of that, it is a lot easier to roll it up.

I will give you another tip – as soon as you see a stain on your carpet, clean it! The longer the blot stays, the harder it will be to clean it.
