Local Rotherhithe Info
Rotherhithe is a district of central south-east London, located on a peninsula on the south shore of the river Thames. It is famous with the fact that it was a port since the 12th century and since the Elizabethan period- a shipyard. The name origins from Anglo- Saxon, meaning “Landing- place for cattle” or “Sailor heaven”.
